Hiep hiep hoera! Hier op de redactie zijn wij fan van All The Bright Places (Waar het licht is) van Jennifer Niven, dus elk nieuws rondom het boek en de verfilming omarmen we. Jennifer maakte eerder al bekend dat de fabulous Elle Fanning de rol van Violet zal vertolken, nu is ook bekend wie het boek zal regisseren.
Miguel Arteta (Cedar Rapids, The Good Girl) is the name. Volgens hem is het pijnlijk oprechte en authentieke verhaal van Violet en Finch de meest overtuigende portrettering van een tienerleven dat hij is tegenkomen. Wow, wat een compliment!
Hij gaat verder: ‘It’s such a privilege to bring it to the screen with the help of its engaging author and the great support of Demarest Media and The Mazur Kaplan Company, who couldn’t be more passionate about Jennifer’s book and this adaptation.’
Op Facebook liet Jennifer weten: ‘Elle Fanning is remarkey-able! She’s playing Violet in the All the Bright Places movie, and I’m just… ADHJNNLPURESCVGBNJ. She’s who I pictured as Violet when writing the book! (And now I’m writing the script!) One of the most talented actresses in Hollywood, and also one of the loveliest.’
Jennifer schrijft dus zelf het script voor de film. De opnames zullen begin 2016 beginnen.
